Imposter syndrome cost a lot. I have a six- figure student loans bill to prove it. I wish I knew from the beginning I knew I was enough and didn’t need the validation of white elitist universities. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been thinking about writing about this for sometime.

You're so welcome! Your thoughts about getting the validation of white elitist universities remind me of a passage from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's "Americanah":

"You are in a country that is not your own. You do what you have to do if you want to succeed."

Haven't finished the book yet, but I suspect the main character moving back to Nigeria is indicative of her external success as an American-educated African woman, but at her cost of losing her cultural ties.
